My mental souvenir from Copenhagen
The wind in my face that makes me look like a movie star, traditions that requires everyone to stuff their faces with pastries, a freedom to be naked, if there is water around… but seriously speaking….
Water, water and more water
The amazing 'waterhagen'
The water is clean and welcoming to jump in, even if you are in the city centre. The sea, the canals, the lakes, where you can pursue all your favourite sports and activities from kayaking to having a crazy birthday party on a boat.

The culture of 2 to 3 wheels
It's often quicker to get somewhere by bike, than by car
How about all the civilised traffic on the cycling routes, where everyone knows the rules and you can stroll easily through the city. Isn’t it inspiring what Copenhageners can transport on their bicycles? Ikea furniture, TV, 4 family members …. No problem at all!

An art of appreciation for every minute of sun
No matter what is the temperature, sun is out and you are too
As soon as the sun appears, Copenhageners are out on the streets. Nobody wastes a single spark of sunshine and it doesn’t matter the outside temperature is still low. ‘En sol’ is out, so find your sunglasses, take a few blankets and eat your lunch outside on the street, while enjoying the warm rays of the natural light on your cheeks.

Times when you are almost not allowed to say 'no' to a pastry
Delicious Danish traditions
In February it’s cold outside, but it’s heaving in the bakeries, where everyone experiences the delight of a justified sugar rush during Fastelavn. Stuffing your face with delicious cake its almost obligatory! How fun?

Green city vibes
Copenhagen takes care about the nature
Copenhill, Green Kayak, beach clean ups, cycling culture, advance recycling, clean air and water… that just a few things that come to my mind. Copenhagen is build based on Finger Plan. It’s basically a drawing of a hand with wide spread fingers. The hand represents the city infrastructure and what’s between fingers is saved for the nature. Simple and cool, right? Of course as any city, it’s still a threat for the nature, which protectors of Amager Fallled know very well… but it tries it’s best to be green as much possible.

Architecture made to be enjoyed
Whether it's a funky bench or a roof top walk
Bits and pieces of beautiful design are thrown around the city for everyone to use on the daily basis. I am talking about funky red benches in Enghave Plads, The Snail – wooden contraction built for those who enjoy diving into deep water, funky swings in Superkilen park and many more.
When I look at inspiring housing for students (containers in Reffen or Tietgen Student Hall and Cactus Towers). I wish I could travel in time and live in one of those.

The untouched historic buildings
many 100s of years old and still going strong
My home city Warsaw is 700 years old, which is only 150 less than Copenhagen. However due to damage in the WWII, the average age of buildings in Warsaw makes it a ‘teenager’ in comparison to Copenhagen. As a result, each time I walk around Copenhagen, I can’t stop being amazed with all the history at my footsteps.
